Probation & Reinstatement Academic Coaching
Facing academic probation or returning after a break can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate it alone – let us help guide your success!
What is Probation & Reinstatement Academic Coaching?
This version of coaching is designed specifically for students on academic probation or reinstated to the university. Led by professional staff rather than peers - these 1-on-1 sessions and group workshops offer a dedicated space to reset, navigate university policies, and build an intentional plan for your long-term academic success.
In KSU Navigate, select Appointments → Schedule an Appointment → Tutoring & Learning Centers → Probation & Reinstatement Academic Coaching.
Probation & Reinstatement Academic Coaching will include:
- Clarify priorities and goals - Determine what matters most to you and develop an intentional plan for your academic success.
- Build from your strengths – Identify strategies, habits, practices, and decisions that are already working – and use them more intentionally.
- Address challenges and barriers – Explore what’s affecting your success in and out of the classroom and identify realistic next steps.
- Connect with university resources – Learn about academic, financial, advising, and well-being resources that can support your larger plan.
Support For the Whole Student
Getting back on track often includes more than just a study plan. Your coach can help you connect the pieces.
- Academic Support – Get help with coursework through various academic resources (like tutoring, PASS, or the Writing Commons).
- Academic Advising – Plan the best schedule for you and get help with degree-related decisions.
- Financial Support – Understand how your aid may be impacted by academic standing and other factors that may affect your enrollment and continued progress.
- Well-being – Find support for other factors influencing your success through mental health and basic needs resources (like CARES and CAPS).
