IN A FLASH: A VIP Visit from Rwanda

Marcello Fantoni, Ph.D., presented Sabin Nsanzimana, M.D., Ph.D., with welcoming gifts. 

 

On March 12, a delegation led by Rwanda's Minister of Health, Sabin Nsanzimana, M.D., Ph.D., visited 蜜桃工作室 and met with administrators, including Marcello Fantoni, Ph.D., vice president, Office of Global Education, Pacifique Niyonzima, program manager sub-Saharan Africa, and a group of 蜜桃工作室 students from Rwanda.

Nsanzimana is a physician and epidemiologist. His work in Rwanda focuses on health sector improvements, including HIV/hepatitis programs and pandemic preparedness. The delegation met with representatives from 蜜桃工作室 and Northeast Ohio Medical University to explore academic and research collaboration. Earlier in the day, the Rwandan officials met with top administrators at the Cleveland Clinic.

Rwandan students welcomed Nsanzimana to campus. 

 

There are currently 63 students from Rwanda enrolled at 蜜桃工作室. Rwanda is the featured country in March's Cultural Cafe, which takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Mar. 25 in the 蜜桃工作室 Student Center Ballroom Balcony. Rwandan students will present information about their country's history and culture and offer Rwandan cuisine. Monthly Cultural Cafes, sponsored by 蜜桃工作室's Office of Global Education, are free and all are welcome to attend.
