This recognition of faculty excellence is a cornerstone of ���ҹ�����’s high-quality academics. By fostering an environment where distinctive programs and breakthrough research thrive, the university ensures that students are learning from global leaders who are actively shaping the future of their respective fields.

“Each year I am struck by the breadth and excellence of scholarship at ���ҹ�����,” Doug Delahanty, vice president of the Division of Research and Economic Development, told ���ҹ����� Today.

Award recipients are selected based on the quality of their work and its impact on society.  

“The remarkable and influential research carried out by our faculty is evident in the many nominations we receive for this award,” Cindy Kristof, copyright and scholarly communication librarian and associate professor, said.

The Outstanding Research and Scholarship Awards

The Outstanding Research and Scholarship Awards (ORSAs), formerly the Distinguished Scholar Award, are intended to honor ���ҹ�����'s exceptional researchers and scholars by celebrating awardees' accomplishments over the course of their careers: 

	Karin Coifman, Ph.D., professor and director, Brain Health Research Institute
	Qiang Guan, Ph.D., associate professor, computer science
	Gargi Bhaduri, Ph.D., associate professor, fashion design and merchandising

Outstanding New Faculty Research and Scholarship Awards

Outstanding New Faculty Research and Scholarship Awards (New ORSAs) are intended to honor ���ҹ�����’s exceptional researchers and scholars early in their careers, within seven years of first becoming an assistant professor: 

	Lei Xu, Ph.D., assistant professor, computer science
	Krissi Riewe Stevenson, associate professor, fashion design and merchandising

Excellence in Graduate/Undergraduate Research Mentoring Awards

Excellence in Graduate/Undergraduate Research Mentoring Awards are intended to honor faculty members who effectively guide and support students through undergraduate or graduate research, scholarship or artistic productions and assist students in attaining and exceeding their goals. 

	Undergraduate Mentoring Ali Barikroo, Ph.D., associate professor and graduate coordinator, Speech Pathology and Audiology
	Graduate Student Mentoring Jihyun Kim-Vick, Ph.D., professor and graduate program coordinator, Fashion Design and Merchandising
