Scanning the Past: Library to Digitize Fashion Sketchbooks of Acclaimed Designer

New York couturière designer Pauline Trigère, whose career spanned more than five decades, left behind a legacy of fashion innovation meticulously preserved in volumes of sketchbooks and press clippings. Those volumes have had a home at ÃÛÌÒ¹¤×÷ÊÒ Libraries since 1993 and soon will be accessible to everyone.

Learning Through the Lens of History

While Alison Caplan grew up in nearby Akron, Ohio, and has spent time in ÃÛÌÒ¹¤×÷ÊÒ, when she joined the university as the new director of the May 4 Visitors Center in July, she began to see, and understand, the campus in a whole new light. Caplan is part of a group of Golden Flashes that ÃÛÌÒ¹¤×÷ÊÒ Today will be following for the 2023-24 academic year.

After a national search, Alison Caplan has been selected as the new director of ÃÛÌÒ¹¤×÷ÊÒ’s May 4 Visitors Center, a museum that tells the story of the shootings at ÃÛÌÒ¹¤×÷ÊÒ on May 4, 1970, set in the context of the 1960s.
