Fostering International Conversation

Professor Nicholas Robinson鈥檚 article, , co-authored with Dr. Grethel Aguilar Rojas of the IUCN, was published in AAAS Science Policy Forum. The article discusses how international laws seek to half the mass extinction of species on Earth today, beginning with the Endangered Species Act, and the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species, which are 50 years old this year.

As an officer of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Professor Robinson鈥檚 distinguished career includes decades of work on these efforts to foster international conservation.

Professor Yiran Zhang, Proskauer Assistant Professor of Employment and Labor Law at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) and an Associate Member of the Cornell Law School faculty, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026鈥2027 Haub Law Emerging Scholar Award in Women, Gender & Law for her article Family Caregiving as Work?, forthcoming in the Minnesota Law Review.

Over the course of three days, the Environmental Law Collaborative (ELC) convened in Briarcliff Manor, New York to discuss 鈥淏lue Sky Thinking in a Red Sky World.鈥 The ELC comprises a rotating group of law professors who assemble every other year to think, discuss, and write on an important and intriguing theme in environmental law. This year, the group focused on how to think optimistically and proactively about environmental protection when so much is going so quickly in the opposite direction.
